After Jiaozuo bringing its winter off-peak production schedule to 20 September, Zhengzhou has confirmed that it has set its 2017~2018 winter air pollution prevention period between October 2017~March 2018, six weeks ahead of the initial plan. In addition, Anyang has made a tentative plan to bring its off-peak production schedule forward, starting from 1st October 2017 to 31st March 2017, total eight weeks longer than the initial plan. For the 16 carbon anode producers in Anyang, producers fulfilling emission standards will require cutting capacity by in excess of 50% (by production lines) or they may need to be shut down completely during the winter off-peak production period. more cities in Henan are going to join Jiaozuo, Zhengzhou and Anyang in extending their winter production period.
