During the recent provincial work safety inspection, the director of the Henan Work Safety Administration Bureau, Mr. Zhang announced that Henan intends to suspend new mine development and expansion of all underground mines of more than 1,000 meters from the surface and for open pit mines with safety space of less than 300 meters between. He also stressed that bauxite and iron pyrite mine developments (both new and expansion) under 300 ktpy will also be suspended.
